Vadim Astrakhan, a singer, guitarist, and translator, released a unique album of English translations of one of Russia's greatest poets and singers, Vladimir Vysotsky. Now he brings it to Boston, with a style of high-intensity storytelling. We welcome Russians and Americans alike to come enjoy Russian culture, in translation! Welcome back to old members, and welcome to new members of MIT Russian Connection! We will have a meeting for new members on 9/10 at 9pm in Mezzanine Lounge (3rd floor student center) to get to know new members. MIT Russian Connection will be holding a grand opening shashlyk picnic on May 11th to celebrate spring and the beginning of our new organization. The Russian rock group Z-exit has been invited and will be playing the music of Viktor Tsoi. The barbeque will begin at 2:00 PM in the Ashdown Yard, and move down to the Thirsty Ear Pub (Ashdown basement, west side) at 3:00 PM for the concert.
