This directory contains the postscript sources to the MIT
Concert Band Logo and the address of the band in postscript. It
also contains .sty files for including the logo and the
letterhead in LaTeX documents. To use the .sty files in this
directory, you must have the bavicchi locker attached. In
addition, you should do one of the following:
1. Set your TEXINPUTS variable to include /mit/bavicchi/logo
2. Copy all .sty and .ps files into your working directory
3. Explicitely state the path /mit/bavicchi/logo in your
\documentstyle command in your LaTeX document.
All the .sty files here are based on the article document style.
Thus, the first line of a file containing the band logo would be
\documentstyle[band-logo]{article}
or
\documentstyle[/mit/bavicchi/logo/band-logo]{article}
It is easy to include the band logo in a file. For programs,
you can use the command
\proglogo
The \proglogo command automatically puts the correct amount of
vertical space below the logo. Look at the file sample-prog.tex
in this directory for an example of including the band logo in a
program.
For general use, you can use the command
\bandlogo{n}
where "n" is the scale factor. Given that the band logo is 115
points wide and 106 points high, and that there are 72
postscript points to the inch, it is easy to calculate the scale
factor needed to get a logo to print at a certain size.
The band-letter.sty file contains instructions on how it should
be used.

You will now find a third letter style (which I think looks nicer)
called band-letter3. It is different from band-letter2 and band-letter
in a few ways:
1) the from address is pushed more to the right
2) the signature is pushed closer to the right margin
3) the text width and height are smaller (more similar to the latex
letter style)
4) Also like the latex letter style, there are no paragraph indents.
