My birthday was a really nice day. In the morning, Sally and I went to Haymarket to get lots of fresh fruits and vegatables. Janet, Sarah, and Cynthia made me a chocolate cheesecake in the seventh-East kitchen, and Sally and Max came over to have some too. It was nice to spend the afternoon (and evening--- the cake took until 11:00 until it was ready) just talking and hanging out with friends.
Mum and Daddy called to tell me they had gone to church and prayed for a wonderful 18th year. . . They sent up a package of my favorite things: chex mix, yogurt raisings, cheese straws. . . and a sweater and a newsboy hat. . . And elf ears. They're a bit too big but opening the packing and seeing them put the biggest smile on my face---- I can't believe they went and searched for them, I can't believe they remembered how I swooned over pointy ears ever since watching LOTR, how Lindy and I made an exhaustive trek through Boston hoping to find some--- so the thought meant a lot to me.
