Here are our 2 TaruTaru's: on the bridge in Port Windurst, which stretches over a water lily pond. It's gorgeous at night, when the water lilies glow in the moonlight ^.^.

and here they are, resting:

Last night, Gozaru introduced Sukiyuki to the delights of fishing (she caught 2 sardines) and brought her to the beach where there were palm trees, damsel flies, and very big brutal sheep :).

Looking ahead to my 5th weekend in Mountain View :). It will be the first one that will not include visiting San Francisco. All of my weekends here have been lovely. My first one, I went to San Francisco with my family, seeing the Golden Gate Bridge and a cute little shore town to the North. The next weekend, I visited with Vikki, because she was home, and we went to see The Prisoner of Azkaban at her local Imax theater (sighs dreamily) and out for deserts at Chinatown with a few of her friends. That Sunday, I went to SF again to Fisherman's Wharf and the chocolate squre. The next weekend (my first weekend without family) I went to SF with friends from work; luckily Oleg rented a car. We drove to the hill behind the bridge and a lovely view of the town, and we went to the exploratorium, where the ducks were swimming and gliding to live quartet music from the 2 weddings going on. Last weekend was SF yet again, to the wharf and the museum of modern art.

I'm such a geek :). I've started playing Final Fantasy XI online, and it's so much fun. Brett and I have each made little Taru characters, mine is a monk named Sukiyuki, and she has pigtails. I have a screenshot of both of them resting, and they're so cute! I'll post it up later.

5-minute-ode

i usually feel small
when i have to jump
up to pull the shade down at night
and goodness!
i can't even kiss your nose
without you bending down
but the way my cheek
is at the right height
to enjoy the rythmic tide
of your chest
(i was concerned you had no
such pleasure but you assured me
my head is a comfortable resting place
for your chin)
makes me feel
just my size
and like it

I love Northern California :). Yesterday morning, I had a lovely walk downtown after church. There are so many book stores--- including a used one with still decent looking books for really cheap. I lounged around the children's book section, receiving all sorts of upward glances from heads several feet below mine. I was looking for Louis Sachar books that I've been told I should read: like "There's a boy in the girl's bathroom" and "Holes", but to no avail. Instead I found copies of the Winnie the Pooh books, which were so cute and charming I had to get them.

I had lunch outside at a Thai restaurant. I was very impressed by how there were freshly cut orchids at every table (fake flowers are my pet peeve, and orchids are my favorite flower). And the food was magnificent, there was a delicious breeze, and oh! yes, I enjoyed it very much.
