The holiday has been a nice combination of vegging out and keeping busy. I watched some fuzzy, happy movies from the library like "Legally Blonde" and "Monsters Inc." and checked out children's books too. I got a larger pair of knitting needles and started on a light blue, fuzzy one, and am taking up a top-secret sewing project. And guess what? My dad got a copy of Maya for his office, so I've been messing around with that too. It's great! It's so user friendly---- so much more useable than Corel Dream3D.
Have I mentioned that one of my IAP projects is putting together a short animation? The setting is a wizarding school. I have most of the story, but it keeps getting shorter and shorter because I think I might be a bit too ambitious. Characters here
None of the professors that I've e-mailed seem to be familiar with animating characters and short movies. One of them even said that there's a big computer graphics conference at the end of January, so most likely no one will be interested in giving me general animating tips or comments. And no one in the computer graphics department seems willing to let me borrow a Maya lisence. How will this turn out? *shrugs*
I haven't spoken to a single friend since I've gotten here. I might get to see Stephanie before she goes to France. That's what's always ironic about going home, to me. Home is where my family is, but, outside of my house, school is where almost all of my friends are.
