Happy New Year!

Yesterday, I went to Jackson with my family. We ate at Little Tokyo (yummmm) and then stopped by the Jackson Barnes and Noble. What torture it is to live in a town where they don't sell manga in any of the bookstores! Hehe. I finished reading Azumanga Daioh (awwwww! It's so cute! Chiho-chan = me, minus that I'm not really smart. The childishness, the taking everything seriously) by accident (I meant only to read enough to decide to buy) and then got a copy of Bleach--- the cover art was just to irresistable. I also got a new calendar. The general absence of cute calendars was alarming to me. I'm still bitter than Bon Bon products seems to have been discontinued. The Hello Kitty calendar for this year was also disappointing. So I settled for the 2005 Dog Food calendar--- the with vegetable and fruit dog sculptures for each month.

I've been playing Pacman voraciously as of late. My brother is doing his science project on it (observing patterns in the ghosts), so I play to let him take screenshots. I remember Pacman and Tetris being the only games I liked to play in the arcade when I was small. I've gotten better over this short period of time. That is, I get far enough to see the first short. (I'm so bad at games that require reflexes!)

I am confused about which lab class to take for next semester: 6.111, 6.115, or 6.152... verilog, microprocessors, or microfabrication? I have no idea what it is that I want to do with my life. *sigh*

I go back to school on the 4th (Tuesday). My IAP animation class starts Wednesday. Happily, a professor showed me a link to a site where I can download Maya for free. A non-commercial version, however. The agreement states that images made with the free version of Maya are stamped with a Maya watermark. I haven't downloaded it yet, but I'm a little nervous about how obtrusive this watermark is going to be... Little thing in the corner? Or "MAYA" in giant block letters that cover the whole piciture? One can hope it isn't the former...

Here's a toast to warm toes, ice skating, and a relaxing IAP.
