happy thanksgiving!

i woke up today at 4pm. i went to thanksgiving dinner at random hall with janet. there were lots of tasty things: turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing with apples, challah bread, salad with spinach, strawberries, almonds, and goat cheese, apple cheesecake. yum.

the day before, i met my japanese language partner for the first time. her name is asuka ara. she has the cutest 9 month old son ever, yuu-kun.

here's what i'm thankful for this year:

-my family
-having dinner with friends
-actually, my friends in general. they've been there for me at really bad times this year, and they're the kind of people that, being around them just makes me happy ^_^
-having friday's completely off! it's been such a treat
-girly manga that warms my heart
-shopping--- it's been my therapy!
-Nud Pob and Penang. I heart their food.
-my trip to Germany this summer
-my summer in Mountain View and my wonderful neighbor Faye ^_^
-my new digital camera
-sleeping in
-warm scarves
-red caramel tea with le petit ecolier biscuits

It's the weekend again ^_^. Thursday nights I have no work, ever, and it was the opening of Harry Potter. So Victoria, Lindy, and I went to go see it at the AMC Fenway theater. I dressed up. The broom (though you can't see the bottom) is really quite a nice broom. I should learn to fly it.

I had some guy ask me, "Are you Cho Chang?" I was like, "Wrong colors?" Dude. I forgive him because he was pretty dressed up himself. We had kind of bad seats, even though we got there an hour before hand. Next time, we have to remember to come 5 hours early.

I thought the movie was really good. The book was well suited for a movie to start off with. Cute miniature dragons! Weasley Twins! Cedric Diggory! Merpeople! My only major complaints were: not enough Sirius. And he looked freaky the one time he showed up. Well, not that he's that much eye candy to begin with. Only in my vision of him, not the director's ^_^. And if you're only going to include 5 seconds of the World Quidditch cup, show the scene with Oliver Wood in one of them. Some of us really miss him.

newest 6.837 assignment: a poseable model. I made a chinese doll with moveable arms and legs. (screenshot)

So Monday was Halloween. I dressed up as an elf. Much fun. I lent Matt my Harry Potter scarf and broom, and apparently he won a costume contest with them! hehe.

Ah--- I have a date to the formal. I'm going with Vikki ^_^.

It's hard to describe my mood as of late: kind of resigned and happy. Maybe it's the latest change in weather by which I've been able to bring out my summer dresses. It's been freakishly warm. Maybe it's knowing what I want to be doing with the next few years of my life, and having that to work toward and look forward too. Maybe it's reading The Princess Diaries and tons of shoujo manga. Well, whatever the case, I'm feeling very baby blue today.
