as soon as i get off from work i like to change into soft comfy clothes. and as soon as i got off from work today, i cooked.

here i am cooking in comfy clothes. i wonder what i am making..... oh! it's thai spicy noodles! yum. it was so tasty that i didn't have any leftovers. i will have to make more tomorrow.

i have just 2 weeks left. i have just 1 more weekend left. i wanted to ask a few interns if they wanted to go to great america or san francisco, but someone beat me to it and proposed that we go watch a baseball game. >_< i wonder why i can't care about baseball if it's not the red sox. and my poor brother--- he's wanted so badly to see a professional baseball game, all his life, but so far i'm the one who gets to go to them.

i'm trying to decide whether to stay at this same hotel when i come back here in the spring (it'll be free) or to rent a place in mountain view (the company'll cover $600). but that means buying furniture... and a 20 minute train ride to work... the reason i'm thinking about moving is that i've noticed that i don't go out since i live so close to work. there's just no motivation to go do exciting things when they're so far away. how lazy am i? ^^;

recent random moments:

a fortune cookie i got recently: "you are not illiterate."

conversation with phil:
phil: so are you going to show me those pictures?
me: i'm not on aim triton, so i can't im them to you... i'm trying to upload them now
phil: um... how about email??
me: oh! i'm a dork! i can email them to you. i forgot all about email.
phil: you're not a dork. sorry dear, but i think you just lost your dork license.
me: nooooooo! gimme my dork license back!

youtube.com is the greatest thing! it has tons of clips of the swedish chef. borg, borg, borg. watch them all!

yesterday i went shopping with monica, who is in this area working for intel, and her roommate. i had never met her roommate before, so it was suprising to learn that she would also be a ta for 6.042 next semester. she seems very nice, so i'm looking forward to working with her. i came home with a denim skirt (i've been looking for the perfect fit for a while), and a cute hello kitty shirt (can you believe that i don't already own one? hehe. u.s. hello kitty goods often frustrate me because they use ugly colors, she has a cheesy pose, etc.).

today, i had plans with mindy to bead. but we also ended up going shopping for a lot of the afternoon. my spoils: the princess diaries and ella enchanted dvd's, on sale at a flea market, sanrio stationary (the good stuff--- imported from japan), some origami paper, and a cherry stamp, and a strawberry stamp. mindy was looking for a wide brimmed straw hat, but couldn't find one to her liking =/ apparently cowboy hats are all the rage these days.

the japanese stationary goods were from a place called "maido" in palo alto--- the packaging was so nice, like a gift to myself. ah, stationary goods are my weakness. and on the right is the doggie that i made from mindy's book (and with a bit of mindy's help, hehe). mindy made one as well. arf, arf. it looks much prettier in person because the crystals are very sparkly.

mindy also made dinner. it was simple but tasty-- naan, indian food from a trader joe's package, cucumber, and yoghurt with mint.

I've had a tiring day-- made a presentation of my summer project to the company's CEO, went home from work at 8:00 p.m., and cooked some chicken cacciatore with Farfalle pasta using sauce from Trader Joe's. For some reason, these days, I'm really liking Farfalle pasta.

Here is me in a few minutes, falling asleep on my bed.

And also, here is my new layout. I liked the other one a lot a lot a lot (I'm crazy about hot pink) but this it was up for a year and I thought it should change. I want to make my blog a drawing sort of blog, where i illustrate my day once a week (or month, we'll see how it goes).

Sorry to everyone who's posted comments lately--- the comments aren't displaying because I am switching to Blogger comments. With Haloscan, somehow my comments get deleted every few months. Hopefully the Blogger comment system works better for me...

My cubicle mate lent me a Hindi movie yesterday. It was so entertaining! It was a cops chase motorcycle gang thriller, but that didn't stop the characters from breaking out into song and dance every so often.

I had a great time with my mum and brother when they visited. Pictures to come up soon. We went to Yosemite, and the waterfalls there were gorgeous.

Ah, tomorrow will be Friday. And I will go shopping.

sorry, i'm in the middle of changing layouts right now, if things are looking wonky.

This is a picture post!

First, I wanted to take a picture of the tanabata bamboo that i hung a wish on, since it was so pretty~

Next is a picture of me wearing my yukata at the Obon festival (I realized too late that I had the right side over the left instead of left over right, as it is supposed to be), along with some of the Obon festival dancers.

Here are also some pictures of my room, now that I've managed to make it look less hotel-like (posted by Janet's request, hehe). I've never done this sort of colorful pastel theme before; I kind of like it.

My mom is here for 2 weekends and the week in between. So far, we have gone to Dim Sum in Palo Alto, the beach and aquarium in Monterey Bay, and grocery shopping. Here is a picture of some bunny snacks from Dim Sum. I had to get them, just because they were so cute! They're quite tasty too, with a sweet yellow filling.
