Diwali Nite is a popular annual event organized by Sangam in the Fall
semester on the occasion of the Festival of Lights, Deepavali. Here
is a description of the significance of this festival.
On Friday, November 2, 2007, from 6:00 to 10:30 pm at the Kresge at MIT,
Sangam will be organizing Diwali Nite 2007 as a showcase of Indian culture.
The evening traditionally begins with delicious Indian food followed by a cultural program. As part of
this program, in the past we've had Indian Classical vocal and instrumental music performances, traditional Indian dances, light Hindi songs, Bhangra,
fusion music, movie choreography and other entertaining performances. It's a
Nite to remember.
