Similar to CEMIT-1, except that Net after
Settlement is shown, and the Revenue and Transfer sections
are combined (i.e. no subtotals for Internal Revenue,

Similar to the MIT Fund Analysis Report.
This structure focuses on revenue, with levels for
investment income, gift revenues, other receipts,
transfers in, and transfers out. This structure is

Matches the structure used in the MIT
Brown Book for Research Expenditures. There are four
categories for salaries (Faculty-Regular Term, Faculty-Summer,
Graduate Students, and Other), a category for EB,
a category for Other Direct Expenses, and a category
for Indirect Expenses. This structure is also complete
(includes principal, revenue, and settlement). |

MIT Operating Expense Analysis |
Similar to the Classic Report: Operating
Account Analysis or GL 54. Contains a category for
equipment that includes only capital equipment, and
a category for graduate student tuition expense. This
structure is also complete. |

MIT AMR All Cost Elements |
Used to drive the 24-Column Account
Managers Report on the zmit menu. The
default in this report is CEMIT-EA, a subset of this
structure that includes revenue and expense GL accounts
only. At the CEMIT-6 level, this structure is complete
(that is, it includes principal and settlement also,
not just revenue and expenses). |

CEMIT-7 |
MIT Secondary/Primary GL Accounts |
Groups GL accounts by primary
and secondary. Primary GL accounts exist
both in the FI module of SAP and the CO module of
SAP, and can be posted to directly, through the payment
of an invoice, a cash receipt or a bill, or a journal
voucher. Secondary costs exist only in the CO module,
and are for the allocation of expenses such as EB,
F&A charges, and Lab Allocation charges.

MIT Profit Center Volume |
The most detailed of the CEMIT structures
created to-date, and follows the Classic System GL
46. For example, salaries are broken down by Faculty
(on and off campus), Other Academic (on and off campus),
Faculty-Summer (on and off), Other Academic (on and
off), Research, Administrative, Hourly, Support, Allocated,
Graduate Student, and MIT Student. This structure
does not include settlement GL accounts. |

MIT MTDC Base/Non
Base |
Groups GL accounts based on whether
they are on or off campus (for salaries and EB) and
whether they are part of the base of costs subject
to F&A charges on sponsored projects using an
MTDC (Modified Total Direct Cost) base. This is a
useful structure when trying to verify that F&A
charges are correct. |

MIT WBS Settlement Structure |
Used to support a new type of settlement
process for Media Lab Consortia. Expenses are grouped
into only three categories: Salaries and Benefits,
Operating Expenses, and Indirect Expenses. |

This cost element group supports the
Fund Analysis Report on the zmit menu. Cost
element subgroups within the structure are named with
the two-letter codes displayed in the SAP Fund Analysis

Residential Life and Student Life Programs |
This structure was designed for the
use by Residential Life and Student Life programs,
and places special emphasis on room, board, and rental
revenues. It also separates programming expenses from
insurance, debt service, housekeeping, and building
maintenance costs. |

MIT Sources & Uses |
Designed for the Funds Reporting Project,
this structure contains three sections: sources, uses,
and transfers. Sources include research settlements,
and transfers includes drafts and cost sharing in
addition to other GL accounts commonly shown as transfers.

MIT Alternate Sources & Uses |
Developed for the School of Humanities,
Arts, and Social Sciences, this structure will show
a grand total when used with the Summary Statement.
At the third level, this structure shows revenue in
total, but expenses in detail. |

Created at the request of users. Includes
only three GL accounts: Research Assistants-On Campus,
Research Assistants-Off Campus, and Tuition-No Overhead.

and Non-Operating Revenue and Expense, with more detail
groupings in the revenue and expense categories than
with the other standard versions. It is used for the
quarterly and annual Institute financial statements |

This structure shows the GL accounts
that are subject to Fund F&A and Fund Fee, as well
as those that are exempt. |

TDC Base/Non Base |
Some cost objects bear F&A charges
on a Total Direct Cost basis. Even on this basis,
some GL accounts are exempt from TDC. This structure
shows which GL accounts are part of the TDC base,
and which are not. |

This structure was developed in conjunction
with the Budget Office, and follows the structure
used in administrative areas for budget submissions
and forecasting during fiscal 2001. Categories include
salaries, employee benefits, travel and professional
development, equipment, professional services, materials

Facilities Capital Projects |
This structure was created to allow for
the reporting of Facilities capital projects. It includes
general ledger account groupings that are unique to
capital projects. |

MIT IS Service Center |
This structure was put in place to support
the IS Service Center. It includes the assessment secondary
cost elements in the grouping where the natural expense
resides, resulting in showing the group total net of
the corresponding assessments. |
CEMIT-M |
Sponsored Billings |
Created for use by Sponsored Billing, shows
Cost Sharing, Sponsored Billing, and Miscellaneous Revenue,
Expenses (in one grouping), and Expense Net of Revenue. |
CEMIT-N |
Finboard/GSC Cost Element Group |
This structure was put in place to provide
financial reporting of student-related services provided
by the Dean of Student Life. It includes Expense, Revenues,
Transfers, and Principal Additions, and Transfers. |
CEMIT-O |
Technology Licensing Office |
Used by the MIT Technology Licensing Office
to settle revenue from license agreements (used for
billing), to fund and general cost objects by GL account
group. |
