MIT Macintosh Users Alert: A recent upgrade to the Mac OS, version 10.5.3, has created an issue with Safari access to SAPweb and SAPweb Self Service applications. The easiest work around is to use the Firefox web browser instead. You can also upgrade to 10.5.4 and then run CertAid, a tool that fixes Safari access to MIT servers. What can I do on the Building Repair tab?

For all emergencies, call 3-4948.

Request a repair or report problematic situations in MIT academic, administrative and service buildings.

  • Request basic repair services to items such as lighting fixtures, shades and windows, blackboards, doors, elevators, floors, ceilings, etc.
  • Check on the status of previously submitted work requests. Enter information for both the Work Order Number and Problem Building.
  • Ask a question or make a comment about a previous work order or other repair issue.

Academic, administrative and service buildings:

Repair requests are handled by the Facilities department. To order an installation such as an electrical outlet or carpentry services, use the Purchasing tab on this page. Facilities does not clean or perform basic repairs to residences or leased buildings. Normal business hours for Repair and Maintenance are 7:00am to 3pm.

Check to see if yours is a non-Facilities building.

Student residential buildings:

Repair requests are handled by the assigned House Manager and their staff. Normal business hours are weekdays, 7:30am to 4:00pm. Request forms submitted outside the normal business hours will be responded to on the following business day.
