This is DRAFT documentation for the scheduler client interface. Last Updated 21 Jan 2005 Access The scheduler client interface is accessed by going to http://web.mit.edu/scheduler/www/ and clicking on "client interface" Front Page The front page has 4 tabs: Punch In or Out, where you can punch in/out View Schedules, where you can view, trade, and claim hours Change Password, where you can change your password for non-certificate login (You can only change your password when logged in with certs) Edit User Information, where you can edit your real name, and other info. Note that the user name you are currently authenticated as appears in yellow in the top left corner of the page. If the information in the schedule appears wrong, you may be on a public machine where someone else has obtained certificates. Make sure it is your name that appears in the top left. View Schedules: After you select a scheduler, you will see the scheduler page, with 3 tabs across the top. Trade/Claim Hours tab The client scheduler page displays the current schedule for the current week. Unfortunately, the columns are not currently of equal width, this will be fixed in a later release. Any shifts of yours are highlighted in green. Shifts that are available for trade will be highlighted in yellow. If you select a user from the drop-down list, they will be highlighted in blue. To trade a shift of yours, select one of your shifts by right-clicking it. It should turn red. Then, at the top of the page, make sure that the day, role, and times are correct, and that 'trade' is selected, and hit 'Go'. It will report whether that was successful or not. The "user" field is only necessary when claiming hours - it indicates the user from whom you are claiming the hours. To claim a shift, follow the same procedure as above, except make sure 'claim' is selected, and make sure the user field is set to the user from whom you are claiming the shift. Then hit 'Go'. If you claim your own shift, there is currently a bug in which the action will default to 'trade', so make sure it's correct. You can only use the mouse to select entire shifts. If you only wish to claim/trade part of a shift, adjust the start/end times accordingly using the controls at the top of the page. Change View tab This changes the part of the schedule that you are currently viewing. It has no affect on any other settings. This is for simplicity if you only wish to view the afternoon, for example. Other Actions tab Here, you can switch to "Quick View". Week Ending dropdown menu This selects a different week from the schedule. The dates here are always Sundays. Selecting a new item reloads the page.
