MIT CANES Internship |

Introduction
The MIT Center for Advanced Nuclear Energy Systems (CANES) partners each summer with various international companies to provide MIT Nuclear Science and Engineering students with internship opportunities abroad. Past partners include Areva (Lyon, France), Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tokyo, Japan) and Karlsruhe Research Center (Karlsruhe, Germany).
Students are assigned to a particular internship based on their past experience and current research interests and activities. Students are expected to commit 12 weeks to the internship

Eligibility
To be eligible for the MIT CANES Internship/NSE, you must:
- Applicants must be NSE juniors, seniors enrolled in the 5-year program or graduate student
- Language proficiency is not required.
- Certain internships require US citizenship. Please contact CANES for more information.

Selection Criteria
Applicants are chosen on the basis of:
- Demonstrated academic excellence.
- Field of interest aligning with companies’ needs.

Students must submit their resume and ranked internship preference (Areva, TEPCO, Karlsruhe) to lyla@mit.edu.

Timeline

Submit resume and internship preference to CANES |

The committee will decide on internship assignments and notify students by the end of the year. |

Submit formal resume and cover letter, including CANES endorsement, to assigned internship sponsor to confirm acceptance. |
