Churchill

Introduction

The Winston Churchill Foundation was established in 1959 as an expression of American admiration for Sir Winston Churchill. The Foundation’s aim is to encourage the exchange of knowledge and the sharing of ideas in science and technology between the U.S. and Great Britain.

Churchill Scholarships enable American students of exceptional ability to study at Cambridge University, one of the world’s great universities. The Scholarships also provide the opportunity to experience life in Britain, to forge friendships with British students and those from many other countries who are enrolled at Cambridge, to see something of Europe and countries beyond, to see the United States from a new perspective and to gain personal insights about oneself that come from living abroad and adjusting to new challenges. At least ten scholarships are offered annually for one year of study.
