Introduction
The Killam Fellowships Program is a new initiative
sponsored by the Foundation for Educational Exchange
between Canada and the United States of America, a
joint, bi-national treaty-based organization created
to encourage mutual understanding between Canada and
the United States through academic and cultural exchange.
The Foundation is supported by the Canadian and U.S.
governments and by a diverse group of corporate sponsors,
charitable trusts and select university partners. The
Killam Fellowships Program is supported by the American
Killam Trusts and is a major initiative in their multifaceted
efforts to foster mutual understanding between the
citizens of Canada and the United States.
The Killam Fellowships provide exceptional undergraduate
students from select universities in Canada and the
United States with the opportunity to spend either
one semester or a full academic year as an exchange
student during their undergraduate career. These awards
are the first of their kind between Canada and the
United States. U.S. students may choose from among
11 Canadian universities, including McGill, Queen’s
and the University of Toronto. For any questions or
comments, please send mail to killam-info@mit.edu
