Policies
Who is eligible:
The Distinguished Fellowships Office, 12-189, provides services to all MIT undergraduate and graduate students, as well as MIT alumni, who apply for graduate-study foreign scholarships.
Application deadlines:
Deadlines must be strictly observed! All deadlines are clearly posted on the individual scholarship webpages. If you have any questions concerning procedure or when certain portions of applications are due, please consult the specific scholarship webpage or contact the Distinguished Fellowships Office, 12-189, at 617-253-4378.
Letters of Recommendation:
All letters of recommendation are confidential and will not be released to the student. All letters must arrive at our office in a signed and sealed envelope for authenticity sake. Letters submitted to our office for the purpose of a particular scholarship application will not be eligible for use in any other competition or for submission to any other office or agency.
Archives:
In general all application materials will be kept for one year. At this time, students may retrieve all application materials EXCEPT letters of recommendation (see paragraph above).
