In addition to basic rental gear available at the MIT Scuba Locker, the Scuba Club also has other equipment available for use at a nominal fee. In order to use this equipment, you must be a Scuba Club member. The steps for reserving gear are:
1. Email the scuba club dive coordinator and explain
-which pieces of equipment you wish to use
-which days you will need the equipment
2. When you are ready to pick up the gear, make sure you bring
-your scuba club membership card
-your checkbook
3. Write out separate checks to "MIT Scuba Club" for the deposit for all of the gear and its use. Also make sure
that you fully understand how to properly operate all of the gear before you use it. The dive coordinator can explain proper equipment use.
4. When you return your gear, you will receive your deposit check provided that:
-
all the gear is returned rinsed, undamaged and in working condition
-you have paid your usage fee in full.

Dive Flags
Deposit: $75
Usage fee: $5

Sea Snips
Deposit: $15
Usage fee: none

Sea snips are widely accepted as being safer and more effective for cutting lines than a dive knife. Small enough to carry in a BC pocket, Sea snips are convenient to take along on any dive.

Dive Computers
Deposit: $400
Usage fee: $3/dive

The Uwatec Aladin Pro is easy to use yet performs its calculations based on the sophisticated adaptive Buhlmann model. Ascent rate alarms, altitude compensation, and no-fly time and a host of other features provide added safety to the diver.
Important: When using dive computers, you must continue to use the same computer for every dive from the time you start diving until you are completely degassed after your last dive. Switching dive computers between dives or doing one dive in a series of dives without the computer could result in a case of the bends!

Lights
Deposit: $65
Usage fee: $5

Different styles of lights are available, so you can find out which suits your needs best. Make sure you use fresh batteries and know how to change them.

0.5 mm Wetsuits
Deposit: $75
Usage fee: $5/weekend, $15/week

These thin wetsuits are ideal for either a tropical dive trip or an extra layer under your regular wetsuit for added warmth.

Digital Video Camera & Housing
