Stage Fort Park Location: Gloucester,
MA
Description The dive spot is a small sandy beach in between rocky outcroppings about 100m from the parking lot. Most of the intersting diving is along the rocks on the left or right shore. Straight out is more sandy bottom, and a great spot to see tube anemone duck into their tiny holes in the sand at the slightest disturbance. There is a nice park for families and picnic tables for lunch. Bathrooms are available at the pavillion from Memorial Day to Labor Day and Port-a-potties behind the fast food place available at other times. The parking is $10 per vehicle. The gate to the parking area is always open and not staffed until about 10am in the summer and is unstaffed at other times. This is a very convenient dive site and very pretty. We recommend it as a site for beginners and experienced divers alike. Because of the sheltered location, this spot is often diveable when all other sites have heavy surf.
