We have finished with our lobsterman, Pete Morse, and had a wonderful time with all the gear he brought in to share with my class. I was very impressed with the presentation that Pete made, and the kids loved holding, banding and measuring the lobsters he brought in. He showed us many pictures of lobstering, and brought a bouy and a lobster trap as well. He had made a video of the inside of his boat and is going to return when he has footage of actual lobstering. We are going to the Fish Exchange in Portland some time in May, and will also visit the Boothbay Aquarium around the same time.

Chris Andrews and I have been planning a number of sessions and the pre-test has been administered. What a surprise. Most of the children had no idea what a commercial fisherman was. We'll remedy that. Looking forward to having Chris visit my classroom and introduce the kids to their first commercial fisherman friend. It will be great.
