Bill
Lee came into my classroom and talked about the program. He also
showed the students some of the equipment he uses on the boat. In
late October I brought my class down to the Sandy Bay Yacht Club
and my students measured the salinity, temperature, wind velocity,
and performed some basic navigation. Bill Lee saved some of his
by-catch and I did a dissection of a squid and I talked about the
anatomy and physiology of lobsters, crabs, skates, winter flounder,
sea robins, and dogfish. I am planning another meeting with Bill
in late November and I will probably perform a dissection of a dogfish
for the students. I will try and get some pictures.
