Mission Statement
The Technology and Entrepreneurship Focus Group seeks to train, connect, and motivate students in their technical and entrepreneurial interests.
- Training occurs through start-up showcases and panel discussions with successful companies and investors. These teach students the principles, people, technology, and methods that make innovation successful commercially.
- Networking events connect motivated students to one another and to successful members of the technical and entrepreneurial community.
- Keynote speakers and innovation forums help students recognize and realize the commercial potential of their own innovative ideas.

TechE Experience
SEBC TechE has been a very refreshing experience for me. After Spenser and I took over SEBC this year, our main challenge was the lack of experience within the team. The TechE members from last year have graduated and moved on, and the new members lacked significant experience in event planning. We needed to build a team from ground up. Riding on the enthusiasm of the new members, Spenser and I organized a few separate sessions, where we helped the new members accomplish their tasks, such as contacting speakers and posting posters. In addition, we also made the events very team oriented, inviting the whole TechE group to a dinner after our first event event. As a junior, I have been a part of many teams, but it is always refreshing to start from scratch and build the culture and the group. It is also most exciting; when you see the young members grow with your organization.

Welcome to TechE
Hello all and welcome to our blog! We'd like this blog to become an informal means of sharing ideas,
information, and contacts. The technology and entrepreneurship focus group was established to help
each of you reach your entrepreneurial and/or technological goals. Please share thoughts you might
have regarding how our group can best do that. If you've always wanted to meet a particular company,
tell us and we'll look into getting them here. Always wondered how to best go about financing a new
venture? Let us know and we'll set up a panel discussion or training session with investors. Want to meet
other TechE-minded MIT or Harvard students? No problem -- we'll set up joint events and distribute contact
information.
If you'd like to be the coordinator for an event of interest, please joing our TechE committee and take
an active role in event selection, plannning, and execution.
