Arcbazar is a first-of-its-kind crowdsourcing platform for architectural design services.

At arcbazar, any person can launch a design competition for any scale of project: an addition to a home, a remodeling job for retail space, a design of an entire family home, a landscape project, a mixed-use development, or any other architectural design project. The client describes the project, uploads images, and provides basic information that form the basis for designers to develop their architectural concepts. The client sets the award and timeline, and in the end picks the best design solution. The award is distributed among the first three ranking design schemes.

We have identified few areas for students to work on, e.g. sales, marketing and PR strategies. We plan to work on new and creative ways to reach our particular clientele. Arcbazar is a first-of-its-kind business model for architectural design services; therefore it poses peculiar challenges for traditional client acquisition models. We want to continue working closely with the MIT VMS, our Board of Advisors and hopefully 4 MIT students to achieve our particular milestones we set for this period.

We would like to develop particular sales and marketing strategies, and apply some of them to evaluate their performance in reaching our goals. Our main goal is client acquisition, and we plan to reach our milestone of 50 new clients during this 10-week period.

Arcbazar offers an entirely new modus operandi for architectural design services. The product is novel and therefore reaching an untabbed market to introduce a new conduct is very challenging and at the same time very rewarding. Students can take what they have learned through this process and apply it to their own start-up companies in the future.

For these various opportunities, we would like to understand the competitive landscape, quantify the potential market, identify the pain points and needs of the customer, and determine if our technology has the capability to meet the needs of these new customers. Most of the work will consist of talking with the customers and end-users, as well as working closely with OsComp's executive team. The final deliverable should include a report on the potential opportunity for the markets that the students choose to explore along with a recommendation on the best strategic direction for OsComp moving forward.
