Background

BenchFly.com is the essential resource and holistic, every day guide for the entire career of a scientist that engages and educates scientists across all disciplines with video protocols, peer-to-peer sharing, lab product info and science-life tools. Providing laboratory techniques, science videos and current protocols, BenchFly expands scientific learning and provides personal development content for scientists to navigate life both in and out of the lab. BenchFly's mission supports and celebrates the researcher's life at the bench to perpetuate the viability of the craft and keep scientists in science.

BenchFly was launched in late August, 2009 and is currently self-funded. We spent the months after launch working out bugs and developing content. Currently, our primary focus has shifted to revenue generation. We're currently working off of a planned revenue model while also looking to expand our offerings to diversify income.

What you will learn:

In addition to our current revenue model, we would like to expand our offerings to include an additional revenue stream. Given a specific product we have in mind, students would be asked to perform a thorough Market Analysis to define the potential opportunity. Time permitting, students could move forward to work on a Sales and Marketing Strategy for the product. Their progress would only be limited by their time.

There is also an opportunity to help identify, qualify and contact sales leads based on Market Analysis for our current revenue model.
