How to Apply

Requirements

  • Have an appropriate project that will teach overarching business concepts to students
  • Design a reasonable project scope given that a team of 3-4 students will work 3-5 hours per week for 8-10 weeks
  • Be present during the kick-off event (Friday, September 11, 2009 between 12:00pm and 1:30pm in a room TBA) and the VMS Strategy Meeting (Wednesday, October 7, 2009)
  • Commit to regular meetings with the student teams. Please do not apply unless you are sure that you can keep in close communication with the VentureShips teams.
  • Actively participate for the entire program duration
  • Possess a willingness and desire to teach about entrepreneurship and business. All company representatives are expected to act as mentors for the students. Not only are representatives expected to teach students about how to approach business problems, but also to share their entrepreneurial experiences and wisdom

  • Written Applications Due: Friday, August 14, 2009
  • A copy of the application can be downloaded here. They should be e-mailed to swu08@mit.edu. Your applications will be carefully reviewed by the VentureShips organization in consultation with senior entrepreneurs at MIT.

     

    Interviews and Company Selection

  • Phone Interviews and Selection: Until Friday, August 21, 2009
  • Promising candidates will be contacted by phone to get additional details and to look for fit within the program.
