Text Box: Welcome to the SEED C.O.R.E Program at MIT  Confront Obstacles and Realizing Excellence

The SEED Confronting Obstacles and Realizing Excellence (C.O.R.E) program is focused on increasing the quantitative reasoning skills of Boston area youth. The premise for SEED C.O.R.E is that all students can excel in math and scientific reasoning if they are provided with a fundamental core of mathematical knowledge.

The C.O.R.E program will be an intensive one-week quantitative course covering these major topics:

•  Basic Computation

•  Conversion and Transformation

•  Estimation and Approximation

•  Ratios and Proportions

•  Unit Analysis

•  Variable Manipulation and Equalities

Who can apply? Participants must be rising Freshmen, Sophomores, or Juniors who will take algebra or geometry in Fall 2008.

Cost of Program: Free - Admitted students receive scholarships that cover all educational, meal and activity costs for the week.
