  1. Install the MIT Atlas app.
  2. Log in through Touchstone using your Kerberos username and password.
  3. Select the MIT ID feature, and follow the guided steps to create your digital MIT ID and print a physical MIT ID card if desired.

Note that some of the Access MIT Pass benefits may require a physical MIT ID card.

Students, campus residents, faculty, and staff
Registering your MIT Kerberos account during your onboarding process establishes your digital identity in MIT's systems. Once your Kerberos account registration is complete, you can activate your digital MIT ID and obtain a physical card if needed.

Department/Lab/Center (DLC)-sponsored affiliates
If you are not a current student or employee and have been invited by an MIT DLC to do work affiliated with the Institute, an MIT faculty or staff member must sponsor a guest Kerberos account for you to establish your digital identity in MIT's systems. Once your Kerberos account registration is complete, you can activate your digital MIT ID and obtain a physical card if needed.

Spouses and partners of students or employees who do not reside on campus
MIT students and employees may sponsor a guest Kerberos account for their spouse or partner to establish their digital identity in MIT's systems Once registered, the spouse or partner may activate their digital MIT ID and obtain a physical card if needed.

Alumni
MIT alumni can sign up for a digital MIT ID and optional physical card for ongoing access to MIT’s non-residential buildings and facilities on campus.
