Description:

This photograph (intentionally blurry and hazy in the original) shows the ivy covered dormitory and the walkway from Ames St. The following poem accompanies the photograph:

The murmorous mood of summer afternoon
Wakes in this coolth, this ivy-dim retreat,
Where sun and shadow mingle in a swoon
Sweeter than love is sweet.

Ivy and elm and hawthorne on the wall,
And casements opening to the drowsy west
As if to harken to the liquid call
Of thrushes in their nest.

--As if by Alfred Tennyson
