Student Jobs
The student employment staff in Student Financial Services (SFS) works with students and employers within MIT and off campus to develop and list student job openings, including paid community service positions. We help students find suitable job opportunities and assist employers and students with employment forms and other requirements. We also provide employment verification for former MIT student workers and prospective employers. Jobs are posted and updated daily on this web site.
We list:
- Fall and spring term-time jobs (part-time only)
- IAP jobs (during Independent Activities Period in January)
- Summer jobs (part-time or full-time)
- Paid community service jobs at all times of the year for students who are eligible for Federal Work-Study
We do not list:
- full-time jobs during term time
- unpaid volunteer opportunities (visit the Public Service Center)
- permanent post-graduation jobs (visit the Careers Office)
- UROP jobs (visit the UROP Office)
- internships (visit the Careers Office)

Medical waiver deadline is Sept. 30
Your bill may include a charge for the MIT Student Extended Insurance Plan. If you already have insurance and want to waive this plan, submit a waiver online. The deadline is September 30, 2008.
Need a loan?
For details on applying for specific student and parent loans, see Get a Loan. Remember that you must first apply for financial aid to qualify for federal loans that are based on financial need.
Financial aid status
1. Undergrads – The majority of the undergraduate financial aid applications received by April 22 have been reviewed and award letters have been sent. SFS Financial Aid is working hard to award all completed files as soon as possible. You may check the status of your financial aid award on WebSIS. Questions?
