Below is a sample financial aid award letter, which is sent to students who were admitted to MIT and applied for financial aid. Roll over the sections to see information about what they mean. For more information, you and your parents should also read "ComMITment," a booklet that came in the mail with the award letter and other materials. Every student with MIT Scholarship is required to complete the Student Information Review Form. Information from your Student Information Review Form will be used to match you with appropriate named scholarships. The Student Information Review Form must be completed and returned before your MIT Scholarship will be credited to your student account statement. A copy of this form may be obtained from the “Forms and Publications” section of our web site at http://web.mit.edu/sfs/.

If you received a Self Help Offer as part of your financial aid package, it is up to you to decide how much of the Self Help you wish to allocate to loan and/or job. We ask that you communicate your decision to our office via the Self Help and Outside Award Reply Form. You may obtain a copy of this form online at http://web.mit.edu/sfs/ in the “Forms and Publications” section. Please complete and return the form to our office as soon as possible.
