Overall 16.202 was considered a good class. Student stated that it was a good introduction to composites and manufacturing. In addition, the general feeling was that it was a fun and interesting class. Professor Spearing received good reviews. Students commented that he was a good instructor and they liked his spirit and enthusiasm. One student commented that he was an "inspiring teacher."

The students agreed that the class schedule fit well with the nature of the material, and felt that the class moved at a reasonable pace. The laboratory exercises were unanimously mentioned as most helpful in learning the class material. Additionally, several students noted that the lectures were also helpful. Students thought the class was graded fairly, and they were satisfied with the amount of feedback they received.

Although a couple of students felt that this class requires no background, most students felt that a knowledge of basic structural mechanics was helpful. Two students also thought it necessary to have some interest in and enthusiasm for the subject matter. Students disagreed about the resources needed outside of class. While some felt that no material outside of that handed out in class was required, others said that they used some outside references.

To improve the class, one student suggests making it a 12 unit class to allow more time for the term project and to have an opportunity to cover more theory. Another student suggested having a competition before and after the class. Finally, one student felt that the final paper should be dropped.

"Fun Fun Fun Fun Fun Fun Fun Fun Fun Fun Fun and Fun."

"The take-home quizzes were major time sinks, as was the final report, but I learned a lot!"

"Thanks for one of the better classes I've taken."

"A jolly good show."
