The students who took 16.431 thouroughly enjoyed the class and the material presented. They said that it was a good overview of simulation that was presented well and very applications oriented. The students had very little to say about the teaching styles of either Prof. Young or Prof. Kutchar. However, one student made the comment that "Prof. Kuchar kicks butt."

The students felt that the class covered what they expected it to cover at a reasonable pace. The students felt that lecture and problem sets were most helpful in learning the material. However, the students were of mixed opinion as to what was most useful for good performance in the class. Most students felt that some programming knowledge was helpful as well as some basic aircraft, human factors and controls knowledge.

Some students felt that the exams were longer than necessary and didn't cover enough of the topics covered in class. Most students felt that the problems sets were the best part of the class. Although one student thought that problem sets should prepare students more for the exams and cover material that wasn't covered thoroughly in class. The were no term projects given although three students said that one should be given. Most students did not use any outside material to prepare for the class. The students would improve the class by having "more hands on stuff", and maybe even make it a two semester class.

* A+ * This is a great very practical class for anyone who loves flight simulation, aviation, or computer modeling.
