No enrollment limit, no advance sign up. However, please email btyung@mit.edu if you plan to attend any of the sessions.

In three sessions we will discuss a number of brief sequences in detail, using new tools developed in the iCampus XMAS project that allow students to define clips, attach comments and share material with the group. No technical experience required. Participants should plan on attending all three sessions.

Advance viewing of Shakespeare in Love and North by Northwest recommended but not required. In class we will work through clips from

Session 1:
  North by Northwest, Rear Window, other Hitchcock films
Session 2:
  Shakespeare in Love, Romeo and Juliet (Zeffirelli), other Shakespeare films
Session 3:
  Shorts by Buster Keaton, Wong Kar-wai, Tex Avery

XMAS has been used in the MIT film classes and Shakespeare classes for several terms, as well as in other colleges and universities including Vanderbilt, Mt Holyoke, University of Michigan, University of Hawaii and Queensland University, Australia.
