HST Thesis Research

I conducted experiments testing theories of the cognitive representation of speech intonation in English. Moreover, I proposed a new theory of intonation in speech, building on work in linguistics and cognitive psychology.

Current Professional Activities

My current professional activities include planning and conducting experiments and studies in speech perception and production, and overseeing the preparation of a research database of phonetically-aligned conversational speech produced by 40 Ohio talkers.

Personal Statement about SHBT training

find that the interdisciplinary nature of SHBT training has allowed me to forge collaborations and dialogs in different fields in a way that has been very valuable to my research and my professional development.
