Current Professional Activities

My research focuses on auditory neuroscience and clinical neurotology, with the emphasis on understanding mechanisms that promote survival of primary auditory neurons.

Personal Statement about SHBT training

The SHBT Program was definitely an excellent choice for me.  My experimental research has shown me that scientific insights often transcend boundaries between fields.  It has also shown me the importance of patience, diligence and humility.  I have come to recognize that the phenomenological and conceptual methods of medicine and the quantitative and analytical approaches of science are equally important tools in addressing clinically relevant questions.  I feel fortunate that I have had outstanding mentors every step of the way.
