Call For Abstracts

In response to a huge demand, we will have some slots for short presentations, for which we are accepting submissions of extended abstracts. Depending on the number of abstracts, these presentations will consist of either short talks or poster presentations. Any regular paper that is not accepted for a regular presentation will also automatically be considered for these short presentations.

We invite submissions of extended abstracts addressing all aspects of ranking in machine learning, including:
  • algorithmic approaches for ranking
  • theoretical analyses of ranking algorithms
  • comparisons of different forms of ranking
  • formulations of new forms of ranking
  • relationships between ranking and other learning problems
  • novel applications of ranking
  • challenges in applying or analyzing ranking methods
We also welcome abstracts on ranking that do not fit into one of the above categories, as well as abstracts that describe work in progress. Please note that abstracts that merely summarize previously published work will not be appropriate.

Submission Instructions

Submissions should be 2-4 pages in length using NIPS style files (available here), and should include the title, authors' names, and postal and email addresses. Email submissions (in pdf or ps format only) to shivani@mit.edu with subject line "Workshop Abstract Submission" and with the title, authors' names and a 100-word summary included in the body of the message.

The deadline for submissions is Tuesday November 1, 11:59 pm EST. Submissions will be reviewed and authors will be notified of acceptance/rejection decisions by Friday November 11. Final versions of all accepted abstracts will be due on Friday November 18.

Please note that one author of each accepted abstract must be available to present the paper at the workshop.
