Over time, cities change and evolve in response to the flow of people through the area as well as the natural processes characteristic of their locations. Likewise, the North End has developed into what it is today. While the North End today, is very different from what it was at any other time, remnants of the past identities still remain, providing clues to how the area has developed over time.
