Isometric View The view of the tuning fork here shows most of the important elements, except for the threaded hole (1/4-20) through the middle which can be used to insert a handle. The piece has a diameter of 0.85" and is 2.5" long overall. The shaft between the two prongs is 1.5" deep and 0.375" in diameter. |

Updates? I haven't gotten a chance to figure out ANSYS, but hope to add the fundamental mode and resonant frequency Real Soon Now ™. Failing finding ANSYS, 8.01 says the resonant frequency should be 1300 Hz. (Freq=v/4L, where v=331 m/s and L=2.5 in). Tone matching with a computer gave about 1166 Hz, a 10% error. |
