Information Session on Skoltech International Research Centers Call for Proposals February 9-February 10, 2012 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge, MA)

The Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) is a new private graduate university located just outside of Moscow, Russia. Skoltech was established in 2011 in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Skoltech aims to advance education, scholarship and economic development in the Russian Federation and beyond by educating leading graduate students and conducting research programs that address key challenges in science, technology and innovation.

In support of this mission, Skoltech has announced a Call for Proposals for Skoltech Research Centers ( Tech/rc-call/). This program will fund collaborative, inter-disciplinary and international research teams using innovative approaches in science and technology with high potential impact. Particular emphasis will be placed in the fields of Biomedical Science and Technology, Energy Science and Technology, Information Science and Technology, Nuclear Science and Technology, and Space Science and Technology.

The Skoltech Research Center Proposer’s Workshop will be jointly hosted by Skoltech and MIT (through the MIT Skoltech Initiative) on February 9-10, 2012 in Cambridge, MA, USA, to provide a forum to learn about and plan for research center proposals in response to this exceptional new funding opportunity. The agenda will include informational and panel sessions, and team- or proposal-building sessions. Workshop space is limited, and requests to participate can be made at MIT Conference Services.
