Speaker's Biography

Philip Marshall is director of the Yankee Group’s Wireless/Mobile Technologies Planning Service. In this role, Dr. Marshall manages a team of analysts who investigate market and technology trends for existing and future wireless mobile systems. In addition, his wireless technology research focuses on network infrastructure.

Prior to joining the Yankee Group, Dr. Marshall spent many years working in various engineering operations, software design, research, and strategic planning roles in New Zealand, Mexico, Indonesia and Thailand for Verizon International (previously Bell Atlantic International Wireless) and Telecom New Zealand. In addition, Dr Marshall founded a software company specializing in the development of data base applications and was an assistant electrical engineer at BHP New Zealand Steel before he attended graduate school.

Philip Marshall holds a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Honors) and a Doctor of Philosophy, electrical and electronic engineering, from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He is also a registered professional engineer with the Institute of Professional Engineers of New Zealand (MIPENZ) and is a senior member of the Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, (SMIEEE).
