MIT Sloan Asian Business Club invites you to:
1st Annual Global TIES* Conference:
High-Tech Entrepreneurship & Cluster Development

Date: December 3rd, 2004
Location: Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Information:  English  Chinese

*TIES = Technology, Innovation & Entrepreneurship Series (Health Science Technologies, Info Technologies & Communication Technologies)

The Winter 2004 Global TIES Conference will be the first of a series of conferences on the management of technology and innovation to be held in key high-tech clusters around the world. A particularly interesting aspect of this series of conferences is that it takes a value chain approach to the innovation process (i.e. studying all of the major pieces that come into play for innovations to be conceived and successfully brought to market).

For our 1st conference in winter 2004, to be held in the heart of the Route 128 cluster in Massachusetts, we want our keynotes, moderators, panelists and attendees to get a full perspective on the different “innovation ecosystems?that have been successful in the US and Asia.

To bring this vision to fruition, we aim to have student leaders (of graduates & undergraduates) from MIT** - to engage and work closely with counterparts from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and leading universities in China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Australia. This will be carried out with support from the administration and alumni of the respective schools to help us to shape this annual event.

** Participating MIT student leaders come from the MIT Sloan School of Management, and MIT School of Engineering, Science, and Urban Planning, as well as the Technology Policy Program, and the Division of Health Science & Technology.
