The ride from Cape Coast to The Ashanti Gold
mine was a great way to start off the morning.
We drove for a few hours before stopping at an
Inn and restaurant that had a restroom. After
20mins of stretching out, we were back in our
cruiser to take on the open road once again. All
was uneventful and most people were dozing off
when Daniel the bus driver slammed on the breaks.
This action was mostly ignored as we came to learn
that quick stops were Daniel's specialty. However,
this time was different. Two goats had failed
to get out of the way of a van in front of us
and the few people that were still awake saw the
tragic mishap.
Without really slowing down, we continued onto the mine. After a few false alarms of where we thought we were supposed to be we finally found the long gravel road leading to the guarded mine entrance.
