The BBC exists in part to supplement CDO career services provided to MIT Sloan students interested in the life science industries.
Approximately 40% of MIT Sloan MBA students find summer internships through on-campus recruiting. About 31% find their positions through other CDO and club resources. 26% source their own summer opportunities through their personal and professional networks. The club community serves as one component to further develop these networks.
The club hosts many networking and educational events designed to introduce members to the life science industries and to introduce the industry to club members. The club library contains several resources to assist club members in their career development. In addition to on-campus recruiting through the CDO, businesses solicit the club with employment opportunities which we distribute to club members.
Opportunities to gain hands on experience in preparation for biomedical careers are available through the club and the MIT Alumni Association. The BioMedical Business Club coordinates
project teams to work within industry. The MIT Alumni Association also offers opportunities for students to work in industry through
externships during the January's IAP
(Independent Activities Period).
