Japan Trip

The Japan Trip has been organized as an official class at Sloan for years. Though this trip, students learn more about Japan by traveling to many companies and cultural sites. Students enjoy meeting with top executives in Japan and experiencing various leisure activities.

"The trip has been for my one of the top 3 experiences of the MBA. It was a great opportunity to get to know one of the most important business and human cultures in the world. MIT brand name provided an amazing opportunity to meet with the top managers in the country. The meetings were terrific, and the visits and social events were a lot of fun!"

Ron Chiu
"I had an amazing time on the Japan Trip. Having been to Japan on my own once before, this trip let me see a part of Japan you can’t really see as a regular tourist. The level of access was beyond anything I could have expected. I learned a lot and I had a lot of fun."

Francisco Gonzalez-Meza Hoffmann
"Japan is a majestic country where past, present and future converge. However, its inherent complexities make it very difficult for a foreigner without much exposure to its culture, traditions and forms to understand it, and most importantly appreciate it. The MIT Sloan Japan Trip to me was that vehicle of appreciation for Japan. To have people who are capable of bridging both Japan and Western world is a unique opportunity to get a true understanding of what is going on in the second economy in the world.

For future generations of Sloanies interested in Japan and Eastern world, this should be a mandatory trip. Perhaps they won’t be as lucky as we were in terms of the organizers, but the impact this trip could have on broadening horizons and understanding the world is invaluable."
