Offices
FSILG
Fraternities, Sororities & Independent
Living Groups
At MIT, students have the opportunity to join one of the Institute's
affiliated fraternities, sororities, and independent living
groups (FSILGs). Founded upon the values of scholarship and
friendship, these organizations not only strive to provide a
healthy and safe living environment, they also are committed
to supporting their members in all areas of the college experience.
LBGT
Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay and Transgender Cener
Regardless of who you are or how you choose to define (or not
define) yourself, there are communities and support networks
at MIT to help you be yourself and to thrive. We here at lbgt@mit
serve as the hub of a network of offices, organizations, and
individuals that continually strive to create an inclusive and
welcoming campus community for lesbian, bisexual, gay and transgender,
and questioning individuals and our allies. Stop by the Rainbow
Lounge in Walker, room 50-005.
LCC
Latino Cultural Center
The Latino Cultural Center (LCC) functions as the hub for many
of the Latino student organizations, as well as individual community
members interested in learning more about Latino culture. The
Center holds regular office hours, discussions, study breaks,
small performances, and dinners. It is also the location for
many student group meetings. LCC is composed of two main parts,
the business offices of the Latino organizations, and the adjacent
lounge for social activities. The lounge is also available for
quiet study and socializing during the day. Stop by W20-028
and visit!
PSC
Public Service Center
AT the MIT Public Service Center, we welcome people from the
entire MIT community - students, faculty, staff, alumni, spouses,
partners, and others - to combine efforts for the benefit of
people in the MIT community. The MIT Public Service Center creates
public service opportunities that suit our institutional culture
as they match community needs. Our aim is to enrich the educational
and life experiences of students through leadership and service
opportunities.
RLP
Residential Life Programs
The Residential Life Programs Office serves to guide and support
student learning, growth, and development in our residence hall
communities. We engage in and enhance the work of students,
Housemasters, and residential staff through programs such as
the House Fellows Program, Residence Based Advising, individual
residential leadership development opportunities, the graduate
Leadership Roundtable series and advocacy and support for the
Dormitory Council and both graduate and undergraduate dorm government.
SAO
Student Activities Office
Involvement connects us to the people and places around us,
gives us a sense of community and common purpose, and allows
us to develop our creative talents and skills by contributing
to something beyond ourselves. The Student Activities Office
(SAO) is committed to providing students with information on
ways to become involved.
