Resources for FSILGs

The Fraternity, Sorority, and Independent Living Group serves the 26 fraternities, 5 sororities, and 5 living groups. Together, these 36 FSILGs are family and friends to over 1400 students. Our chapters play an important role for undergraduate students and as such are supported through the staff in the Fraternity, Sorority, and Independent Living Group Office (FSILG). The purpose of the FSILG Office, located in room 549 of the Student Center, is to provide "one-stop-shopping" for students involved in fraternity and sorority life.

FSILG Event Planning

Because of the Institute's commitment to the Greek experience, the FSILG Office has been charged with the responsibility of establishing supportive and collaborative relationships with FSILG leaders and members. The services provided through the FSILG Office include chapter advising, event planning, leadership development, risk prevention, recruitment guidance, personal responsibility, academic guidance, and community service. The FSILG Office also works with chapter House Managers on proper building management and life-safety issues.

Along with the support mentioned above, as a community, there are community expectations for all chapters and organizations and their members. As such, various guidelines and policies consistent with fraternal values outline these expectations for membership eligibility, social events, and new member education. The FSILG Office also has resources on Faculty Advisors, Resident Advisors, and the Cooperative, plus ideas for chapter retreats and scholarships for attending conferences. The following pages will guide you through many of the resources and documents important to the FSILG community.
