Sorority Recruitment
For MIT students, there are many opportunities to get to know
sorority women and to see the vast network of support that our
sororities give their members. When you speak to sorority women
at MIT, you'll find that that they come from all different backgrounds,
have various interests and hobbies, and certainly don't fit
in with the stereotypes of "Sorority Girls" common
to TV and movies.
Students’ best chance to discover all that a sorority
can offer occurs at the end of the Independent Activities Period
(IAP) each January. This is Panhellenic's formal recruitment
period, when each sorority plans a weekend of events designed
to allow you to get to know the individual groups. At the end
of that weekend, each sorority formally invites a group of women
to become their newest members. It's an exciting time for current
and prospective sorority members, and is a good way to see each
group all at once, to make an informed decision about membership.
Any female student- freshmen and upperclassmen- are encouraged
to attend, and should plan to return to MIT prior to the end
of IAP to participate fully! |
