DARPA Grand Challenge: Automated Cars
DARPA Urban Grand Challenge is a competition among the autonomous cars that drive themselves in the urban environment. Talos, the robot car developed by Team MIT, completed the 60 mile mission at the final event on November 3rd. This talk starts with a brief description of what DARPA Grand Challenge is, and covers how we developed, integrated, and tested the three key systems - perception, planning and control, and vehicle hardware. Several video clips from the race log are also shown, including passing a stopped car, intersection precedence, parking, and accidents involving other robots.
