Manta Elite placed tenth overall in the 2001 American Solar Challenge. It was the first MIT car to run on lithium-ion batteries, a newly allowed technology in the ASC open class.

Manta GTX won the cutout class and placed eighth overall at the 1999 World Solar Challenge in Australia. It was the highest-placing U.S. entry in that race.

Manta GT took second place in Sunrayce 97, a race from Indianapolis to Colorado Springs. A modified and repaired Manta GT placed third in the 1998 World Solar-Car Rallye in Akita, Japan and fifth in the Dream Cup Solar Car Race Suzuka '98.

Manta is the one-passenger solar car that won Sunrayce 95, a race from Indianapolis to Colorado Springs, in June '95.

Aztec is a two-passenger electric car (tour de sol commuter class) which had a very impressive record in its primary race, the American Tour de Sol.

Solectria 5(-B)/MIT 5x is a Tour de Sol class solar car. It has participated in many events including the Swiss and American Tour de Sol, the Arizona 500, and the Canadian and American Solar Cup. It also raced from LA to DC in just 14 days--a world record!

Galaxy was designed to break the land speed record for pure-solar cars, which was held by the GM Sunraycer at the time. Galaxy competed in the GM Sunrayce, finishing 6th.

Solectria 4(-B,-C) was built by a team which grew from the success of its predecessor, Solectria 3. Solectria 4 raced the Swiss Tour de Sol and 4-B raced in the World Solar Challenge. Solectria 4-C appeared in a corporate image ad for Dow.

Solectria 3 was built in less than a month and almost entirely by James Worden. Solectria 3 was the first American entry ever to race in the Swiss Tour de Sol.
