This multi-disciplinary design seminar focuses on developing
technologies for improving health care in Africa. We will start by
exploring the design process through a variety of hands-on exercises.
Then students will work in teams and go through the entire design
process-- from problem definition through to construction of a
prototype.
Amy Smith is a graduate student in Mechanical Engineering and the
Technology and Policy Program. She is currently working on research
projects in Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
Assisting with the course are: Aimee Angel and Michelle Berris of
Mechanical Engineering; Fred Cote and Tony Caloggero of the Edgerton
Center; Prof. Carmichael of Ocean Engineering; Prof. King of Physics; and
Prof. Wilson of Mechanical Engineering.
