Unfortunately, an artist may not apply to be an Artist-in-Residence. Artists are generally selected from a pool of nominees by a group of students, faculty, and staff and then invited to come to MIT. If you are interested in becoming an AiR please do not email the Office of the Arts Director of Student & Arist-in-Residence Programs. Rather, you should search the MIT website for student groups, faculty/staff members, and departments that would be interested in your art and subsequently nominating you for a position. Keep in mind that space at MIT is limited and it may not be possible to provide you with a studio or even an office during your residency.
